And yes, of course, I concluded my tweet as we twitter-bugs do, with a simple #YvonneStrahovski. (God bless the hashtag, the universal symbol for “Join in on the conversation!”) Less than a minute later, I thought I’d been attacked by some kind of weird virus and that Twitter was going twitter-bananas on me. But no, it was simply Twitter in action: a plethora of Yvonne fans jumping at the chance to talk to her, via me and Modern Dog magazine. more

The mother of Sheen’s two daughters, Sami and Lola, and the subject of an endless stream of interest in her personal life, she still manages to keep her head high and her finger on the pulse of that which really matters: a healthy balance between career time, family time, and a heckuva lot of animal rescue awareness. I’m so thankful for the invention of the telephone, I need a new word for this level of gratitude. Being between addresses and currently living out of a suitcase at my in-laws’ until we take possession of our new house, I’ve been wearing what has become something of a uniform for the last month: coffee-stained yoga pants that embody the descriptor “elastic waist” and uncombed hair in an unkempt ponytail. It’s been so long since I’ve put on mascara, the wee wand would likely render me befuddled. So the irony isn’t lost on me that this is the state in which I find myself when I prepare for my talk with supermodel Niki Taylor. If ever there were an instance to fall down on my knees and thank higher beings for the magic of technology, allowing me an over-the-phone-and-therefore-not-visible chat, this would be it.
