Well our new kitten, Blackie Chan, came home this weekend, and boy was I unprepared for what life with a baby cat would be like! I expected this little ball of fur to want to snuggle and snooze all day long, but I was so, so wrong. In fact, it takes a lot of wrestling, stalking, chasing, climbing, hiding and hissing to tire him out enough to warrant a nap. But man, when he does nap he is so darn cute!
Being that Roxy is blind, Blackie Chan doesn't factor much into her daily life,

As I do every year, last night I made the dogs dress up in hilariously adorable Halloween costumes we picked up from Petsmart for our amusement. I think I outdid myself this year, these costumes perfectly captured Roxy and Cash's unique personalities!
Roxy was a pink ballerina hippo, which was fitting because she was practically bursting out of her tutu. She was super cheezed about being put in such an ill-fitting

The ASPCA has spelt out what you need to know from a pet perspective and I am sharing it here:

I can't believe that it has been 10 years since I first saw her in the dirty window of a pet store! I've done several things to lead up to this momentous celebration, including having custom hand-carved collars made and getting a portrait of Roxy tattooed on my arm. So when her actual birthday finally came this past weekend, it was all things Roxy fun!
First I made Roxy a

As of right now, I have not told my mother about this tattoo (so hopefully she won't see this post). This isn't my first tattoo, in fact it's my 7th, however the fact that it's so large and placed so prominently on my arm will undoubtedly give my mom a heart attack. So, sorry mom, blame Roxy for being way too super

There are far too many qualities that endear this perfect creature to me to list them all, but I'll quickly run through the top highlights for you.
1. Her affinity for tennis balls. I wish I loved anything as much as Roxy loves tennis balls (well, I think I love her and Cash that much!)
2. Her brindle stripes.

So I turned to my colleague and Modern Cat expert, Mary, who shares her home with two particularly saucy cats, BB and Sailo, to impart some kitty-cat wisdom on me. Thanks to Mary's guidance and a lot of flipping through the pages of Modern Cat magazine, I've compiled a Kitten Essentials kit to prepare me for Blackie Chan's

First, after over two years as a foster in our home, Chance left us and returned to SAINTS due to his declining health. Following that heartbreak, we decided to foster another dog who we quickly fell in love with; however he ended up having dog aggression issues which resulted in Cash getting hurt. This was the ultimate blow, as I felt incredibly guilty and responsible for letting something bad happen to my
