It recently dawned on me that it might be weird that I tuck my dogs in at night. Furthermore, it might also be deemed strange that my dogs have a luxurious, human-like bed. Rather than curling up on a large, overstuffed, glorified pillow, my dogs have a proper bed featuring two (that's right, two) mattresses, two pillows, and a blanket to share.

As per our usual Sunday routine, Roxy, Cash, Jer and I set out to find a new trail to explore on our weekly hike. This time we left our city and traveled 30 minutes away to Fort Langley, a tiny little township filled with historical sites and some pretty cool trails. We decided to try the Houston gravel trail in Derby Reach park, the signage stated that this 4km loop would take 1 hour. It took us 2+. And so begins the story of our stint in what I call the Labyrinth of Danger.

Ever since Blackie Chan came to live with us, he's had an affinity for Cash. Actually, that's understating it. He is absolutely obsessed with Cash. Following him around and trying to snuggle him is one thing, however he's developed a strange behaviour that's totally baffling us - he suckles on Cash.

As a sewing novice, I'm always looking for ways to cut corners and avoid having to stitch any DIY project. Back when we were fostering Chance, an incontinent paraplegic Pekingese, I was having to wash the dogs' bedding every day because of his accidents, so I would make him really simple, no-sew beds that required little time, skill and money!
