Back from NY Pet Fashion Week

August 29, 2008
We're back and a little tired (too many 3am evenings, but when in NY, spending an evening watching TV in your hotel room would be sacrilegious, so you go out of course!) and now, we're busily trying to catch up on sleep and work. I give the Pet Fashion Week team full marks; the event this year was bigger and better than ever. The Saturday evening runway show was nothing short of amazing (sorry I haven't got my video ready for you yet, but PFW will be supplying me with some images), and we were blown away by the creative styling that went into this cutting- edge fashion event.

In the trade show area, exhibitors from all over the world marketed everything from the latest in canine couture, pet feeding systems, toys and treats to grooming products and appliances (our advertiser, Jane Grant won the Innovation Award for her product, Hugz, see her photo below) . The best of these products will be featured in the upcoming winter issue, so stay tuned.

Following are some photos I snapped while out taking a bite of the Big Apple:

If you've got time, you won't regret seeing the Broadway musical, Mary Poppins, we loved it! It ties Lion King as my favourite musical ever. To learn more about Ashley Brown, her darling French Bulldog Eddie, and her starring role as the "practically perfect" Mary Poppins, click here.

New York's Summer Street Program had Park Avenue and other streets closed to vehicles on three Saturdays in August to allow people to get out and walk, bike or play in the streets. This included the Saturday we were there, so the W Hotel provided pedicabs to take us to PFW. It was a fun way to travel! Here are my colleagues, Jennifer and Jessica en route to the Metropolitan Pavilion...
