Dogs in Cars Photography Exhibition

London photographer's exhibit of photographs of dogs left in cars is haunting

By Sara Lima | Photographs by Martin Usborne

Haunting gazes and meaningful stares are on display at award-winning photographer Martin Usborne's new solo exhibit, MUTE, showing at East London's theprintspace gallery from October 21st to November 9th.

Usborne explores the sense of loneliness and isolation that humans and animals experience in modern times through photographic prints of dogs staring stoically out of car windows under the cloak of darkness. The effect is heart-wrenching and poignant all at once, with the photographs both speaking of this alienation and reminding us that our canine cohorts rely solely on us for companionship and, ultimately, happiness. 10% of all proceeds are donated to the Dogs Trust to help fund their efforts in rescuing and re-homing stray and abandoned dogs. martinusborne.com

Those photos are beautiful, but truly disturbing. Though I 'd love to see the exhibit, I think it would give me nightmares.
